I am using kooka 0.4 and have KDE 3.4.1 installed but actually use Xfce 4.2.2. I scanned in a very simple grayscale A4 page and selected print. I waited, and waited, and waited. Nearly gave up and then the printer woke up. I repeated the exercise whilst running top and found that kooka was using 99.9% CPU (I have an Athlon64 3000) and swap was being used whilst I have over 1GB of free RAM
I cannot believe that this is normal behaviour. Is this likely to be a program bug or a config issue on my part?
BTW the time taken to start printing from Kooka was 3 minutes 15 seconds. I saved the image as a jpeg and dropped the file onto the printer tool on the Xfce panel and got an instant response. Fascinating!
