mumbles 0.4 released - growl-like desktop notify for Gnome

Postby dot_j » Fri Aug 31, 2007 1:44 am

Hi All,

I'd like to announce the newest release of my project mumbles.

Mumbles is a plugin-driven, DBus based notification system written for the Gnome desktop. Similar to libnotify notifications and Growl for OSX (, Mumbles aims to provide a modern notification system for the GNU/Linux Desktop.

Features in this release include:
* New plugins (including Pidgin, Firefox & Thunderbird)
* Growl network notification support
* Themes
* and various other improvements and additions

If you check it out, please let me know what you think - I'd love to hear feedback from the LFX crowd.

And an extra thanks to Jon Phillips who's editorials about getting a new project going was invaluable to the mumbles project. Your advice was greatly appreciated.

Thanks and I hope you dig it.
