Graphics for laptop install

Postby Harisheldon » Sun Jun 26, 2005 11:29 pm

I am currently trying to install Mandrake Linux 9.2 on my laptop but I am unable to properly get the gui graphics running. I have installed the program 5 times trying different things, but it always boots up to the text screen and not the gui. Here are the specs for the laptop:
Compaq Presario 1200
40G HD
188 Ram
500 MHz

There will be no other OS on the system. Please help if you can. Thank you

When you get to the summary section near the end of the installation, you will probably see that the graphical desktop has not been configured (this usually happens because your hardware has not been recognised). Click the configure button, answer the question and you should get a desktop when you reboot.
