Ark Linux - Install Problems

Postby ggsinclair » Sat Jun 25, 2005 11:17 am

I created an install disc using the ISO kindly supplied on this months mag.

Install goes ok until it tries to install the bootloader confirguration - then the install fails (no real explanation other than "error install" or something like that. It reboots automatically. I tried disabling usb / acpi as suggested but that didnt help.

Has anyone else had this problem?

We really need to know what you mean by an "install disk".

You might like to try setting the bios to defaults and making sure that "non Plug and Play OS" is selected.

The install disc is just that, a CD from which you install the distro. The ISO image is on the latest cover DVD.

I've not seen the problem you mention, test installs here worked fine, but fingers99's suggestion sounds worth trying.
