nVidia drivers - my brain is melting!

Postby heiowge » Sun Mar 16, 2014 11:12 am

Can anyone help, please?

I have had to go back to using an old Dell after my main PC went bye-bye in a way I can't afford to fix right now.

I now am using an old PCI nVidia 256mb graphics card. It's a GeForce 6200 (according to lspci). Rest of machine spec is below in the signature.

There are no listed additional drivers. The Mint forums seem to indicate that the 304 driver is the right one, but it seems to give errors about broken packages when I try and install. The current driver (if one is actually doing anything), seems to have problems with even basic flash based games (yes I have the flash driver installed). My current machine can't run Bioshock or Fallout New Vegas. At least I should be able to play Sugar Sugar without it running at a snail's pace. :(

So... can anyone assist please?
