Not just repair - they cannot even sell you a new battery. I had a Vodaphone of which the battery failed. Vodaphone's website said that Carphone Warehouse were repair agents. So I went to their Bristol Cribbs branch and asked if I could buy a new battery. The salesman looked at the phone and said :
"But this must be more than two years old sir!"
I replied that I was not in the habit of replacing things simply because they were two years old, and asked if he was aware that he was a Vodaphone repair agent. He looked blank. It seems that I had set some kind of record by keeping the same phone for over two years, and consequently hit a boundary (the battery life) which no-one else had ever hit before.
And this is an age in which we are supposed to stop wasting things?
