I had my wife asking me about .odt files the other day and why they wouldn't open properly. I took a look and found that she was selecting the file from konqueror and the default file association was for Kword and not OpenOffice.org. I went on to set a file association so that .odt file opened with swriter. But it did not work.
I use Xfce not KDE so decided to configure a runaction with ROX (my default file manager) and it worked fine. Also did the same with the Xfce default file manager. This therefore appears to be a KDE thing. Anyone else have this type of experience.
BTW - Slackware current with KDE 3.4.

Nope, but I agree that KOffice's handling of odt files created in OOo is apalling. It's nice that the latest patch for SO7 included the ability to read od* files (but sadly not to write them).
