All in one Motherboard

Postby icrowe » Sat Jul 23, 2005 12:19 pm

I'm looking to build a Mandriva 2005LE based system by upgrading an old system. I have 2x30Gb HDD, optical drives, case, PSU (400W) etc. Can anyone recomend/warn me away from any all in one boards. I was looking for something which I could upgrade later. Probably a socket 754 board/Sempron with 512Gb memory and an AGP socket but also onboard graphics/sound/lan to keep initial costs down. The system will be used mainly for web browsing, coding and word processing, therefore high end 3D graphics not required. It would be nice if it would all be supported straight out of the box.

Any suggestions guys?

itx is pretty expensive, a 939 venice with cool n quiet enabled in 2.6 kernel will run very cool, I can stop the fan completely as it sits at 34c

Sapphire ATI Radeon Xpress 200P SKT939 mATX w/LAN 6Channel Audio USB2.0 SATA £48

AMD (Venice) Athlon 64Bit 3000+ Socket 939pin 512k L2cache 90nm Retail Boxed £100

Corsair (VS1GBKIT400C3) 1024MB (2 x 512MB Matched Pair), DDR400 / PC3200, non-ECC, Unbuffered, CL3, Memory Modules With Lifetime Warranty £60

Or if you only need 512MB, then its £32

Total = approx £210 / £180
