Assign a Root password

Postby noob » Thu Jun 30, 2005 8:25 pm

I recently installed MDK 2005 and did not set a root password.

I need to do this and have looked under user management but cannot work out how to set this.

Help would be appreciated!

Many thanks.

Open the console.

Type su
Press enter (I assume if you haven't set a password it will be blank)
Type 'passwd' (without quotes)
press enter
enter a password

Open console
type 'passwd'
enter password
