hi, bit of a weird thing. Upgraded my mandrake10 offical installation to the mandriva linux limited edition. now when i go to log on the system takes about 10 minutes to log me on either as a user or as root. no problem previously.
any ideas? Where would i look to see whats going on log file some where.

awnsering my own post but some one else might need to know
upgrading from mandrake 9.x to 10.x breaks the login a bit
9.x uses devfs 10.x uses udev when you upgrade you get both which causes some problems. Easiest to do an install rather than upgrade.
shows the wisdom of installing any non standard programs into /home/username/bin.
