Why are we fighting? What will we win?
Let's just co-exist and do what we can to spread the word about Windows and Mac not being the only OSs out there and available.
Linux is not for everybody, and until OEMs start offering it as a preinstalled option on new machines, and just as importantly, users realise that it is not just another version of Windows that they can use to run their currently owned applications, it never will be for everybody.
Give most users a new machine with no OS installed, but a DVD or USB with an install image of Windows, Mac or a Linux distro, and I suspect Linux might start to look a bit easier than the alternatives. I recall the last time I installed Windows on a laptop it took a very, very long time to get it to a point where it could be used for anything, certainly more than a day; my last Xubuntu 12.04 install took 20 minutes to a very usable desktop.
Xubuntu 16.04 user, and loving it!
