LXF 166 - Typo's in article "Think of the children"

Postby EllisD » Fri Dec 07, 2012 12:27 pm

I'm a complete Linux noob and was happy to see this article in which you configure Squid & Dansguardian to stop kiddies getting to websites they shouldn't be able to.

After half an hour of trying to find:

Code: Select all
httpd_port 3128

in "squid.conf" I gave up. I did find:

Code: Select all
http_port 3128

and changed it to:

Code: Select all
http_port 3128 transparent

and bingo!!!

Perhaps we could have a typo thread!

Things like Susan Linton's error on p38, where in her side column "A good show" she refers to Jono Bacon as "Bono".

Or the p114 LXF Time Machine, where it showed issue 101 from Jan 2008 and called it issue 100 - Jan 2007 (Issue 100 was shown last time, I remember as it was the issue I started on).

i5 4440 3.1Ghz, Asus H87M-E motherboard, 8GB DDR3, 2GB DDR5 nVidia card, 2x500GB Seagate hd, Coolermaster 750W PSU running Mint 17.1 MATE and Win7

HP mini, 1.66 Ghz Intel atom processor, 2 GB DDR3, 320 GB hd, Mint 17 MATE

what makes you think that's a typo?
The sig between the asterisks is so cool that only REALLY COOL people can even see it!
