is there any alternative command for man pages to view the commands details please help me

There is an other way of viewing man and info pages but it needs the KDE desktop environment just use the KDE info center apart from that you a limited to the terminal and the bash command line.

There's also info, which is often more readable than the equivalent man page, just type info at the bash prompt and have a read.

Apart from man and info pages, some packages install HTML documentation and you'll often find more detailed tutorials on their web site wikis. There's also command --help of course.

There are some very interesting and colourful characters in there, but I found the plot was not very gripping. I felt it lacked a little warmth and je ne sais quoi.

If you're using gnome, and I assume also in unity etc etc, you can open gnome help (yelp) and type man:command in the box, (note the colon, not space) which will open up the man page in a more easily readable format, just like a text file, and you can also search it more easily than the /searchterm of man pages.
