Postby paulny » Mon Dec 26, 2011 11:21 am

Hi, I have no problems DVD152 or previous DVD15X or DVD14X to boot from DVD on my HP laptop but can't boot from DVD153(Open SUSE or fedora16). Can anyone help this problem?

Postby towy71 » Mon Dec 26, 2011 1:37 pm says that you are not alone ;-) however the last post on that thread says to use
Code: Select all
vga=1 pci=noacpi
as an option on boot.

I haven't had a problem with either disk :?
still looking for that door into summer

Can you describe exactly what you are doing and what you see on screen. It is not clear how far into the boot process you are getting.

When hp laptop powers up, the powerup screen message is shown like "press th esc key for Starup Menu" on my hp screen then I expect dvd ,for example open Suse12.1, should be booted up but dvd drive keep spinning which means no further message on the screen so it somehow did not process the booting and fedora dvd as well. But when I tried Win7 and Ubuntu 11.10 with same hp laptop, it boots up from the dvd.
