Loading Linux SUSE 9.1Problem

Postby dreamyoga » Fri Aug 26, 2005 6:04 pm

I want to migrate from XP to Linux SUSE 9.1.

When I try and load from the disc a message indicates that the programme that created the disc is not recognised and I cannot get it from the web.

Any advice welcome?

I think you are trying to run a program whilst still in Windows - the SuSE CD/DVD are bootable. You start your computer with the CD/DVD in and press enter when prompted by the BIOS to boot from CD, the SuSE Linux boot menu will then offer to boot from the CD/DVD or the installed HD. Choose the CD/DVD and you can then start the installation. Please read all documentation and screen info, you can wipe your Windows installation if you are planning on dual booting.
