Just been skimming through LXF71, and read the "Linux Diaries" piece.

Hmmm. I know it's meant to be a bit of fun, but I'm not convinced.
I mean, the Hurd being ready in 2019 ? Nah, thats' just too far-fetched

Some of the other stuff is too close to reality/potential reality to be funny :
* ave laptop battery life : 20 mins
* change to US constitution to allow 3rd term - they nearly did that for RayGuns !
* Perpetual copyright for that darned mouse

And as for SCO surviving in ANY form if (WHEN) they lose to IBM & Novell... whatever you're on, stay away from it

So, if you see that wormhole again, chuck the dairy back in & with any luck we'll get Graham back...

My laptop lasts just over three minutes now with a full charge, so I've swapped the LAN cable for wireless, but need a socket if I want to work in the garden in the sun. Damn.
US won't need a third term for Bush, little brother Jeb wants a go in the big seat.

I think we'll all have Kevin Warwick style implants so that we won't need to unlock the car doors while holding a supersize McD's lard burger. Iggy Pop will not have aged any more than he already has, glasses will have a HUD to avoid pooh on the streets and remind you that its time (every 22 minutes) to reapply the factor 54 suncream, and a beaming Richard Branson will hold a press conference on the moon to launch his first Off-Earth hotel. And the Stereo MCs will release the follow up to Connected.
