Hello,
in last issue (September -LXF 109) Mike Saunders covers few distros for the Asus Eee replacement of the Xandros original distro.
Mandriva seems a good distribution for the Eee but Mike mentions the CD support only. However Mandriva is also available via an USB key (see www.mandriva.com) called 'Mandriva Flash 2008 Spring'.
Can this USB key be used to boot the Eee (and so avoiding need of external CD drive) in a live mode and install if wanted ?
Bye,
Bruno |

Hi Bruno,
This thread would be better off in the Magazine or Hardware forums -- let me know that you've seen my reply and I'll move it.
As for Mandriva, it looks like you can extract the contents of the CD ISO, put them onto a USB key and make the key bootable -- see this tutorial:

(The first comment is the English translation.)
