anyone has trouble with gaim under suse 9.3?

Postby frankmanzhu » Wed Jul 20, 2005 6:01 pm

I had installed suse 9.3 yesterday. It works fine. But I had a problem when working with gaim.
When I type gaim in the shell.
It displays the following message:
(gaim:11986): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_display_get_name: assertion `GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed

** (gaim:11986): WARNING **: cannot open display: unset

What is this message mean? Is this a common problem or is it just me?
Thanks.

I can't say for certain as I don't use SUSE, but the following should work:
Code: Select all
export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
