I thought Alsop was a presenter on some home-improvement program. Maybe she's moved into fable improvement?

Perhaps he means Allsop, there were a couple of builders from Tamworth, the Allsop brothers, they could tell you a tale or two.

Now I have a mental image of a Microsoft Representative going round the Affiliates office with a cardboard box, collecting mugs, t-shirts, hats and pens... _________________ This signature has been produced using traditional writing methods on behalf of The Campaign For Real Slogans.

It is only by going on topic that I can stay off topic in an off topic forum in a thread that has gone off its topic.
I would have thought that was obvious _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

Some folks would call that a skid-mark. Perhaps it's time to change the tighty-whiteys. |

ok, google to the rescue ... it is Aesop not Allsop.
The frog may have been called George and the scorpion could have been called Roger, but i'm not quite sure on that.
I wonder if it was derived. What would have occured if 'idea' patents existed at the time !
Edit:
------
Aha, i see towy71 has already corrected the name ...
And as the wiki suggests, it is likely a derived story with various character substitutions, ie; a folk tale.
The wiki is just saying that it isn't originally authored by Aesop, but it is 'one of his' in that it was told with Aesops twist. I can remember reading it in a book a long time ago, that was titled 'Aesops Tales'
If it found its' way on to Star Trek, it must have something to say. _________________ http://counter.li.org

Or else the Star Trek script writers were running around looking for a story and then thought, why not nick someone else's.
It's not plagiarism, it's research! _________________ Bye, Rhakios |
