It's almost as slow as the old site from here. It downloads a few K of each page then goes to sleep for several seconds, and that's without adverts and users to slow it down further |

I'm confused. It works really, really fast here.
What browser are you using? |

I've tried it with everything except IE (I'll check that later when I can be bothered to get my laptop out). Works okay with Firefox (Linux and Mac) and Safari which covers the two common rendering engines and it seems fine. (except all the buttons on the QR panel confused my addled brains).
I like the 'spirit of orange' on the Quick Reply box. When can I start posting news?

Internet Explorer seems to work fine - I tried it last night from home and also this morning from work.

If you start by submitting news from the link on the menu, I'll add it myself until I get all the moderator stuff sorted out. |

I'm still a little puzzled. This is a dual opteron 244 server with acres of memory etc. When we ran tests, even with 200 users making 2000 requests, it still managed to process them at around 20 per second.
There are a few tweaks we can do to the DB and possibly the code, but I'm expecting no more than a 10-15% increase in speed. |

It's a browser thing, I was using Konqueror, but with Firefox, it's nice and fast.
Konqueror flashes it's "your HTML sucks" icon during loading.

| Well, there is a possibility that some of the HTML. It sucked a bit more before we tweaked it. |

First off it's good to see we're up and running.
Seems to be ok here but then being on dial-up you can't expect too much.
I tried Konquerer and it is too slow,Epiphany so so,Dillo was ok but I wasn't able to log-in.
Using Firefox on a FC3 box at the moment and it seems to be the best so far.
Did try IE on an XP box earlier today and it was ok and I was able to re-register here
whilst on it during lunch hour.Received my pwd almost instantaneously through gmail. |
