| I recently acquired a PlayStation as a freebie. It's an original one (not a PS2) and I'm looking for good games. One proviso: they must be suitable for an eight year old... Any suggestions? |

Worms Armageddon: fun for all, though the PC version is vastly superior. _________________ OpenSUSE 10.2, WinXPHome

The first Harry Potter game was a PS1 game & was pretty good but it's the only PS1 game I've ever had. _________________ I have been touched by his noodly appendage. |

1. JumpingFlash! -- Brilliantly creative (but very easy) 3D platformer. A real pioneer.
2. Music 2000, so the youngster can write choons
2. Erm, I'll get back to you
Just do not, please, for the love of everything that's precious in this world, buy Bubsy 3D. Even if someone _gives_ you a copy, dispose of it in an industrial landfill.

dave mirra bmx it is the best game i have ever played including all the bmx/skateboarding games since on ps2, my nephew used to play it as well so it must be ok as he was about 8 (although i don't remember him beating me in the tag game life's a lesson )

| I liked all the FF games but I'm not sure if the average 8 year old has the patience for a 100 hour game like they tend to be. Obviously FFVII was the pinnicle and has never since been reached. |

I've heard that said a lot, although I've only played FFVII. What is it about the follow-ups that makes them less good? Did they mess up a core gameplay element, or were they just too long-winded or something?
FFVII was tops. I wish I lived in the Gold Saucer.

Any of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, not sure what they got up to on the ps1 (probably just I and II) but they are all splendid fun, even for adults! _________________ The question is, what is a mahnamahna?

Bikes and skateboards sounds like a winning combination to me! And I might grab Final Fantasy for myself.
Do I win a prize for starting a thread which contains only a single, relevant post by 1slipperyfish (troll)? |
