From comp.sys.acorn.announce (my emphasis):

Quote:

The next meeting of the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) will be:

Liam Proven demonstrating the ROX desktop and Linux

Monday 21st August 2006, 7:45pm
(informal discussions from about 6pm onwards)

The Blue-Eyed Maid (upstairs)
173 Borough High Street
London SE1 1HR

Liam is a freelance journalist and author, covering many other
operating systems as well as RISC OS, and a serious enthusiast of Linux
and computers in general. He will be demonstrating and talking about
the ROX desktop, which provides a RISC OS alike GUI when using Linux
and Linux applications. He will also talk about recent Linux
developments.

ROX provides a whole host of RISC OS features for users of lesser
operating systems, and is well worth a look. Liam is also keen to show
that Linux has improved significantly since last an expert advertised
it as a desktop operating system at ROUGOL. So he will be
demonstrating what it can do.

<snip>

Screenshots and other information about the ROX desktop can be found in
its "getting started" guide at: http://rox.sourceforge.net/desktop/
guide

The demonstration will benefit from video projection, so everyone
should have a great view. A wide range of hot and cold food, alcoholic
and non-alcoholic drinks (at central London pub prices), will be on
sale. Admittance is free and everyone is welcome.

Anyone with wireless enabled handhelds or laptops should be able to
access the internet during the meeting, or (if time allows) use
ROUGOL's own computer to do so after the main presentation has
finished. Please speak to Tommy Lowe or Bryan Hogan if you have
problems connecting.

The venue is between London Bridge and Borough tube stations, so
readily accessible by public transport. It also benefits from ample
cycle parking (covered by CCTV) very close by.

If you are arriving by road, the Congestion Charge ends at 6:30pm and
our meeting starts much later. However, please note that parking on
double red lines is restricted at all times. On single red or yellow
lines, it is best to park after 7pm. If you aren't completely familiar
with *central* London parking or driving, please allow extra time,
patience, and maps.

If you need any help reaching the venue, or any other information,
please contact us as below.
