Your kernel was telling you that it's compiled with USB support but you don't have a usb-?hci.o module loaded. If memory serves me usb-ohci.o is a compaq-based module and usb-uhci.o is an intel-based module. If you load the proper module at startup this should alieve this problem. The easiest would be to YaST->Install/Remove Software-> Search for proper module (minus the last .o) depending on your hardware and either install or update it.
