FF on XP autoupdated...
FF on SUSE... still on 1.0.7 I think, YOU doesn't seem to want to update any further

Distros like SuSE tend to backport security and bug fixes to the existing code, rather than release a new version and break compatibility with other software. The same goes for Mandriva, unless you use cooker.
