| There was a reader input in an LXF issue recently that the world jump day wouldn't have any impact besides the fact that people commonly all over the world would have some fun together. There was a suggestion? on jumping in one spot but that wouldn't be viable because of the physics. The fact is that there wouldn'd being any jumping at all. If all humans where to be gathered together at one spot giving every human a square-meter to stand on we would all be melting away. |

| also, 10 million jumping in austrialia at the same time as 10 million people jumping in the UK would have the effect of cancelling each out anyway. etc. |

Except they are 12 hours ahead of us
If everyone jumped at noon, local time, we'd have a global Mexican wave _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |

Which should gain in amplitude as the day progresses. With luck, by the time it reaches California, it will have gained enough to hurl a significant number of the inhabitants into space _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |

If we allowed for the difference in time, everyone would be jumping at noon UTC, not local time,. Instead of a wobbly wave, the world would just get a little smaller _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |

Or like throwing SCO at IBM? sorry couldn't resist.
Couldn't do it at noon though, half the world would be having a siesta, late afternoon might be better _________________ Need a New Signature |
