...less is the new more, options-wise too it seems.

Manipulation or arithmetic on the numbers part of LXF183 takes us back a few years or last year.

In those days one could rely on the TAB or Fn keys to append or change any boot parameters to possibly solve any hardware hassles. And yes, in a normal GRUB menu using ESC key will take you to the line where _then_ you can use 'e' key to edit.

Purely by chance a finger hit the 'e' key, after I realised that ESC'ing wouldn't do the 'normal' GRUB thing and just makes you go back a step, as it says of course.

The point is that if you must change the proverbial wasn't broken, at least write an extra sentence or two in the new code for display to inform users what _now_ needs to be done to allow amendments.

Escape has always taken you back to the menu in GRUB. If you want to boot with your changes, press F10 or Ctrl-X as it says at the bottom of the editing screen.

Using TAB to change options is more an isolinux thing, but we don't use isolinux for the DVD any more. That means we can keeps the ISO images unchanged on the DVD for those that want the separate images files, but it means you lose some of the features of the distro boot menus as we have to bypass them, although we do reproduce all the options.

I'll see what I can add for the menus. Grub is more limited than isolinux when it come to displaying status/help messages.
