Well Rhakios here is the latest.
Last night I went into the directory where I had put the downloaded drivers and clicked on iscan-data_1.23.0-1_all.deb. It was installed.
Then Mrs catgate shouted out that cocoa was served (I wish she wouldn't ...I hate the stuff) and it was cot time for little boys.
This morning I wondered what effect the above file would have on the scanner programmes that I had downloaded for the recently departed scanner.

Oh joy of joys. I can now use XSANE, Image Scan! for Linux, and Simple Scan....from famine to feast.
