Well, my new printer works great with OO Writer, Firefox and the like.
When I open a pdf in Evince and try to print it, the (CUPS) dialogue picks up on lots of nice professional print options that standard Office apps tend not to, such as print quality. But the printer status is reported as "Rejecting jobs" and the Print button is greyed-out.
XPDF doesn't render properly at all.
I'm kinda fazed, this was mainly what I bought the printer for.
Any ideas? _________________ Cheers,

What new printer ?
HPLIP has an option to print files without opening the file first. _________________

Epson WF-7015 on debian stable.
Update: went back and found printing from OOo now also broken. CUPS diagnostic toy pointed me at the setting where my system had decided to set the printer to not accept any jobs - after using it successfully the day before.
Uh? Why did my system do that?
Anyway I reset it to accept jobs and now can print A4 portrait - from both OOo and Evince (hooray).
but not the special size/grade paper I chose the Epson for (Boo).
The printer just returns an error. The CUPS diagnostic toy can't figure it out, but saved me a troubleshoot.txt file containing 140k of magic spells.
