Can I tell get_iplayer to store an downloads in a particular file?
If so how is this done.
As I am new to this assume I know nothing.
Thanks.

Hi Richard, I presume you mean directory, rather than file? From the command line, type: | Code: | | get_iplayer --output <path to directory> | So, for example: | Code: | | get_iplayer --output /home/<user>/Videos/ | get_iplayer will then use this directory for downloads every time.

One way is to cd into the directory that you want the download to be in, then run the get-iplayer command _________________ still looking for that door into summer |

Or you can set the environment variable IPLAYER_OUTDIR. That way you don't need to cd or add any options when you use get_iplayer. _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |
