This isn't really intended to be an on-going series, but make it one if you want. However, I came across this one on a recent story from the Register about our great benefactor, Linus Torvalds:

Quote:

People like to idolize the "ideas" and "inspiration", but in the end, almost anybody can have an idea. Getting things actually done is where people stumble.

I think some people need to have this tattooed on their foreheads!

So true! But this is also appropriate to quite some folks Rolling Eyes

"You don't need eyes to see, you need vision"

(Faithless, "Reverence" from the same titled album Wink)

My quote of the week was from Dan Lynch on the latest Linux Outlaws.

On talking about Microsoft's frequent delays in releasing caused by them tweaking Windows:

"You can't polish a turd!"

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Ah, but you can gold-plate it.

A favourite pastime of middle managers, in my experience, and often resorted to when the mess from mere polishing begins to rub off on them.

It is an important task of senior management to put their foot down before things go too far... .
