Just when I did something of actual value with OpenOffice, the document I was working on has gotten itself all corrupted Crying or Very sad

A whole day's work wasted Crying or Very sad

More info:
I was working on a .docx file and saving it throughout the day. I closed the file then forgot a change I wanted to make, so I re-opened it. The document displays a Read Error where the pictures should be, and all the text (apart from the Chapter link text, some bullets and formatting characters) has gone. The document still displays the empty pages though.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Ok, so I got lucky. A friend suggested I try in google docs and it was a success!
