I've just joined a new isp and I'm having trouble setting up my adsl and home network. Unfortunately for me they don't support my type of setup. My setup is a Draytek Vigor 120 adsl2/2+ modem and a syslink e4200 router in a bridge mode configuration.
I've had this setup work with my prevous isp but I can't get it to work with my new one. I've followed the advice on forums that I've googled. Recycling power after making changes on the modem as one tip. I've gone through all the configurations I can think off in the Internet access menu.
if you can give me some pointers that be a great help.
thanks heaps.

Hi Blkbx,

Can you obtain an internet connection from a host directly plugged into the LAN port of adsl modem?

If this is true, and it is obtained over dhcp, take a note of the automatically configured dhcp settings (default gateway, ip address, netmask)
Then when you connect the "internet" port on your router to the "lan" port on the modem, in bridged mode, it should obtain dhcp from the modem

(sorry if i've over simplified to the point of patronising...)

Stewart
