Hey! That's not fighting fair! I was just stating what you guys were too chicken to admit. Hands up those of you who would like to take linuxgirlie out for a coffee. After all, somebody once told me, 'Faint-Heart never won Fair-Lady!'
BTW, whatever on earth is a LAN party anyway? I suspect it's more about networking people, rather than computers... |

crispibits:
Well basically we get as many people into our 2 bed end terrenced as possible, usally having to use the garden table as well in the front room! We on average have about 8 people, but last time there where 12!! Each time we do something different for food so like once we had pizza, then we made a huge patch of curry!! etc etc There is soft drinks or achohol. We play UT2004, Half Life, Wolfenstein and now Quake 4 will be added to the list, basically anything that will run on my Linux comp, as I refuse to install Windows (OH thinks I'm stubborn....Damn right!) We spend most of the night killing but like most parties we do stop sometimes for chats, normally on the way to the fridge!!
Flea:
I must admit, there where food and toilet breaks in that 33 hours, so I'm not that tough
Jo
BTW anyone is welcome to come along and play, all you need to do is bring a computer/laptop and some food and drink of your choice We will be having another one shortly, so it might be interesting _________________ My knowledge comes with no warranty...........

linuxgirlie: thanks for the offer, but not only is Wiltshire just a tad too far to go (even to experience a LAN party), but I'd probably
a) fail dismally, and become cannon fodder within 5 seconds of every game
b) Get *far* too excited at being out at a party after 4 years of sprog-rearing, drink far too much far too quickly and fall asleep within 1 hour of arrival
c) both of the above...
jjmac: sorry, but what *is* that?
ladi: I'd be very happy to take linuxgirlie out for a coffee, and her other half too. We'd probably have quite a chat about Linux in education and all sorts of other stuff _________________ I'm not a spammer - honest! |

Perhaps ladi meant "Hands up those of you who would like to take linuxgirlie out for a nice pot of tea and crumpets"? No? |

Aw, come on! The emphasis was on taking her out, not the coffee.
Like Linux, I'm sure most coffee shops provide options for just about everyone, including people who hate coffee! Besides, look how many hands went up!
BTW, looks like jimac's got six fingers! |

You will actually find that it is five fingers and a thumb!
