I just read "Build a video arcade machine" (LXF 152). Sounds like fun to play arcade games from the seventies, eighties, and nineties.

The article makes a number of hardware suggestions including a 2.3G Core2Due processer and Nvidia Gainward GT 520 video card. However, it does not provide a recommendation for a motherboard. The article does refer to "Build the Ultimate MythTV Box" from LXF 117. However, the Asus P5N7A-VM motherboard that is suggested in the MythTV article is no longer widely available.

Any suggestions for a motherboard to put in a video arcade (MythTV) machine?

I recently built a PC for my wife, using the ASUS M4A88T-I deluxe mobo, a miniITX form factor, with built-in bluetooth and wifi, and more overclocking options than you can shake a stick at.
I dropped in an Athlon 204e dual core Processor, which has a TDP of 45W
A superb board, and fits in a tiny case.

Not sure if that's still available, but most any motherboard these days is more than capable.

My MythTV PC sits in one of these:

which I picked up on ebay brand new remaindered stock for 99.99
