How about running a compo to get Linux into a windows base organisation.
I was thing that it should run on a points scheme outlined below and must be confirmed by two people a director and line manager for example. I'm sure LXF can arrange a suitable prize.
Points
10 - For replacing a windows critical system with a linux server
5 - For implementing a new solution on linux server on comparison to a
windows based one.
1 - For every windows server replaced by a linux server
-1 -- for every windows server that replaces a linux server
-5 -- for implementing a new solution on windows server on comparison to
a linux based one.
It should run over a year and could be a yearly event!

Sounds good fun, but it runs the risk of people implementing Linux badly/inappropriately just to claim the prize! It's better that IT staff deploy Linux purely on its own merits, mereckons.

I'd win hands down for implementing 4 Linux servers on Police Force networks that were strictly Windos only. _________________ --

Which police force is that? I'd like to congratulate them for using Linux if they ever arrest me.

My post was just a mick take, know you do karoshi and work for a school, I didn't seriously think you had room booking and a help centre at your home
Then again, maybe you do
