|
|
I am running Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS on a Compaq laptop. The printer is recognized (a Brother HL5370DW) which is connected wireless to a router. The laptop is connected to the network. When I try to print I get a message "Printer not connected?" though it shows the printer in the dialog box. How do I "connect" the printer. It apparently has the latest CUPS driver installed on the system.
Thanks for any help. _________________ B ez on me... I'm 80+ yrs of age |

| No sure whether this is relevant but I read another thread which said there could be problems if the printer is connected to the network using DCHP and the answer was to configure the printer with a static IP address. |

DHCP is only useful for printers if you can reserve a particular address.
This is because printer ports are tied to IP addresses, if the IP address changes, you lose connectivity. _________________ The sig between the asterisks is so cool that only REALLY COOL people can even see it!
