Hi
I have a recording unit (iMac with digital tuner) a storage unit (QNAP + Router with storage).
I need a playback unit. I plan to run Mythbuntu.
Easy I have a nice PC, HP DC7600 (overkill, probably).
- But my TV is not compatible with any of it's outputs. I need a low profile graphicscard with S-video or Compsite output.
- Also a Low profile highend audio output would be nice to connect to the stereo. The Audio output of the DC7600 is a little noisy.
The DC7600 is a power hawk, but it will do for a start. Any advice on a small device that will take 2 low profile cards are welcome too.
I would like to build a playback machine myself, but as far as I can see it can be done cheaper by buying a finished product.

My 2 cents (0.6 adjusted for inflation) are simply to get a NVidia card. Particularly if your TV is LCD.
I have an ATI card and video tears horribly compared with my myth box which has a crappy nvidia 6200 agp card. _________________ I think, therefore I compile |
