I'd like to get involved with open-source development. My programming skills are next to non-existent, but I would like to get involved and learn.

Is there a central place where opportunities are publicised?

Go to http://sourceforge.net/people/ and find a project you think you may be intrested in, depending on the language you know i could do with a hand

Cool,

I'll have a look. As I say, I'm pretty useless at the mo, but am trying to cut my teeth with Bash scripting. I looked at Sourceforge, but must have missed the "people" bit.

im working on a number of projects at the mo the python one beeing quickrip though the web sote still says discontinued lol

Another way of getting involved, at least if you are not a coder, is to join documentation or marketing projects.

The Fedora Project are crying out for people who are prepared to document programs etc.
