Was it the nonsensical wordpress reference at the end? What's that point of making a link look like normal text. Isn't the point to make the reader aware that it's a link? Crazy spammers

Indeed it was. I suppose the purpose of putting the link where it would not normally be seen is simply to improve web search rankings by making it another page providing a link.
