Loggin Help

Postby iancass » Thu Sep 01, 2005 7:09 pm

Cant believe I am asking for help here about this problem but for some reason after successfuly installing Lunix Mandrive 2005 ltd edition I come to a point where its asking me for a user name and password after it ahs booted up etc. When doing installation I made a point of only entering a password and not a user name. Is there an easy solution?

Enter root as the username, give your root password, then create a new user with a name, or if userdrake shows a no-name user, try editing that one to give the user a name.

No,

What will happen is it will log you into the system. You then have two choice you can use a graphical menu to edit your user or you can create one via the console. For graphical go -> Start Menu -> System -> Configuration -> Other and then User Administration.

For the console way open a console/konsole type useradd usernamehere
and then type passwd usernamehere logout and in with your new user!! :D
