| If your graphics card is outputting through the VGA connection you on't achieve anything by trying to use HDMI. The VGA output to your monitor, which I'm sure is actually 1280 x 1024 if it is the standard LCD 4:3 format, outputs sufficient quality for the monitor. |

| sorry I should have said this is to input another device that is hd thru the moniter and your correct its 1280x1024 |

Sort of a related question:
I am trying to find the best resolution when I stream from my laptop to my Hi Def flat screen TV.
I have been using the VGA cable but am not happy with the results.
My laptop is an older model with no HDMI output.
Can anyone suggest an add-on solution? ( I surely do not want to do anything at the board level since those are so delicate.) |
