Have a look at THIS
I defy anyone not to think this is an Apple ad until the end. _________________ Bomb #20: "Let there be light" |

That's because it IS an Apple ad. _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." (Albert Einstein) |

Irony, or is there something I don't know? Apart from all of the Apple kit on show, it appears to be an ad for BT broadband (complete with the plonker from My Family) _________________ Bomb #20: "Let there be light" |

From the song (and title...) I knew it was bt, but it did have a lot of apple products in it. But no apples. Very unhealthy. _________________ For certain you have to be lost to find the places that can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was |

Do you think BT used all that Apple kit because they like Apple, or because Apple paid them a large amount of money to do so. The punchline may be for BT but the sub-text all the way through is "buy Apple and enjoy this wonderful lifestyle". _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Yes, I kind of guessed that Apple paid for their stuff to appear in the ad.
Not sure if this comes under the heading of subliminal advertising or something. Either way I can imagine a few letters of complaint winging their way to the ASA.
Pretty sure there must be something in the ASA code of practice against this sort of thing along the lines of it must be clear what is being advertised. _________________ Bomb #20: "Let there be light" |

Perhaps they are trying to tell you that Android phones and tablets and Win7 mobile phones aren't supported?
Not sure what was so great about the "lifestyle" they're plugging though. :shrugs: _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

Talking of Apple...
My cousin has bought this:-
http://www.apple.com/uk/macbookpro/specs-17inch.html
Just under 1900 quid, effing OUCH, OUCH and OUCH!
It is very well made and looks cool, BUT, !900 QUID?
(I think not.)
Opened up a terminal on it and........
Well, it looked highly familiar.
Talk about ripping off the customer for a "free" Kernal/OS... :( _________________ 73...

It's a Unix-based OS, what did you expect?
However some of the CLI app variants aren't as friendly as their Linux equivalents. For example: top, where you need to use top -ocpu in order to get Linux top's default behaviour, also it isn't interactive by default. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

I was in london a couple of month ago, waiting for something so popped into an apple store. After many minutes trying to find the terminal i got it up. Not much difference but it didn't have nano!
Then I looked at the price tag. And quickly left.
Whilst there I also played on the iphone. Great for playing games and if you are a genius like me and my friend you could just about get some multi player games to work. Then i tried to make a phone call and send a text. Then I got stuck.... _________________ For certain you have to be lost to find the places that can't be found. Continuing on the tangent of mobile phones, I keep wondering about the point of keeping everything on the phone. I mean, here you are, talking to somebody, and you find out you need to read from a document, which is stored on the phone, while you are using the phone ?
?
How does that work, anyway ? I've never tried, since I thought of the problem before I had the chance to enjoy it... _________________ Member of the Institute of Market Dialysis |

You switch the phone into speaker mode, so you look like one of those pillocks on The Apprentice, then look up what you need.
This is a lot easier than wedging the phone under your ear while to try to get a laptop out of your bag and start it up. _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." (Albert Einstein) |

Or you could sit down in a nice warn starbucks. Then get your laptop out.
Or just wait until you are in the office! _________________ For certain you have to be lost to find the places that can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was |

You're assuming it's an outgoing call... or an incoming call from a patient person. Most of my calls fall into neither category _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." (Albert Einstein) |
