1) I`m an electronics, (RF), engineer.

2) No. The only time I get onto computers is in my own time.

3) N/A.

4) Yes, but I am real bad at it...

5) Assembly, Python and others.

6) N/A.

7) I am an experimenter.

2) Every day - Windows, Mac OS X & Linux

3) Manage servers, manage users, manage network & internet connections, web server admininistrator (student sites and Moodle server), fix end user problems, teach IT and multimedia and anything else that comes up.

4) Yes, web (HTML, CSS, PHP, Perl), shell scripting - wish I had time for more.

7) Administrator and tweaker. Just now I am working on following the NSA guidlines on securing a RH server. It will be an outward facing SSH machine.

Install, troubleshoot and support our products in our customer's networks. MFDs mainly, but also associated software- Office, print management, scanning, document management, print accounting software, etc. and write for a few Computer magazines in my spare time.
4. yes, when I have to.
5. Whatever is required, but mainly PCL or Postscript, DOS and Bash scripting, HTML and XML, and various others, including (historically) machine code a and assembler, I learn enough to fix things. I really can't stand programming.

Adhesives engineer here.

I advise and test on which adhesives and tapes stick things together, and also test them to make sure they stay stuck!

Day job means an XP laptop for the usual office stuff.

Outside of work I run a little web design / hosting business so have some understanding of PHP.

5) at work it is mainly xhtml and css i use but i am slowly learning actionscript3 and java/jquery. my fave language is probably visual basic but i haven't used that in a job since i was 15

6) If 4) i can alter stylesheets, create webpages, create database queries, create scripts and create flash animations

7) i am a user as i have the classic "any other duties" plus i do a fair bit of image editing and database work. but i also develop and create things

4) Yes, sometimes - web mainly (Classic ASP (yuck), PHP, Javascript, C#, AutoIt, Windows batch, Perl, Bash)

5) PHP and Javascript.

6) I like coding. Sometimes it helps accomplish administrative tasks, or to modify open source code to do what we want, or create bespoke internal applications.

7) Only when I'm working on producing publicity material (newsletters, booklets...) I become an IT user of the network I otherwise maintain & support

4) Yes, in my own time. I did get an interview for an in house programming position at the same company, but didn't get it.

5) Depends on the programming task. (Since so many of you are playing the spoken language card I'm going to add Latin because it's so nice. I kind of suck at it though because I have to learn Finnish)

6) Some people do crosswords. I try to program.

7) No. I guess if I program them, then I am a kind of a creator as well.
