My daughter had her first day in the Juniors (Key Stage 2 for all you modern parents!) today.

I wrote her a letter asking her about her first day (inspired by this thread), and asking her to write back.

We are now planning to write one letter a week to each other (my wife helping her with the envelope), and I'll help her post it.

I think you're missing the point, there could be some serious Kudos to be had if you write her the right sort of letter Wink

Kind of depends on your GF though.

Along, long time ago, I wrote letters in French to a Belgian girl whose native language was Flemish, and she spoke no English, while I spoke no Flemish.
the results would no doubt be entertaining to anyone fluent in all 3 languages, but we managed to communicate (I hope).

I remember the heroic efforts of the chap who wrote an English>Portuguese phrasebook, armed with only an English>French dictionary and a french > Portuguese dictionary.
