Hi there,
After the article in the recent issue of the mag, I decided to give KVM a go. I have an upgrade disk of Windows 7 which I used to upgrade my Vista partition.
I was wondering if it is possible to use this to create a virtual machine with KVM.
Currently I'm running 10.4 -64bit.
(The computer had Vista installed and therefore didn't come with a disk.)
Regards

You would have to install Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7. You could try the disk but as far as I am aware it does a check for Vista on the machine already. _________________ Join GiffGaff and get £5 free credit |

I'm not sure that is quite right. One of the "upgrade" options is to choose a clean install. IIRC you have to enter the Vista 25 character licence and then the Windows 7 key but I can't find this anywhere at the moment. Start the installation and see what happens, it's only a few minutes to get to the key stage. |

| Thanks wyliecoyoteuk, I knew it could be done but I just didn't have time to search. |
