Module names: What is the difference between "-" a

Postby alloydog » Thu Aug 11, 2005 9:07 am

A quick and easy one...

With modules, for example, as in /etc/modules-2.6.7, what is the difference between using the dash "-" or an underscore "_" ?

For example, what is the bifference between:
usb_storage; and,
usb-storage?

None, apparently

Code: Select all
[root@hactar src]# modinfo usb_storage
filename:       /lib/modules/2.6.12-gentoo-r7/kernel/drivers/usb/storage/usb-storage.ko
license:        GPL

[root@hactar src]# modinfo usb-storage
filename:       /lib/modules/2.6.12-gentoo-r7/kernel/drivers/usb/storage/usb-storage.ko
license:        GPL
