Just thought I'd help anyone interested in using Beagle with KDE. Gnome automatically starts the Beagle daemon - "beagled" - and enables the desktop search tool. This is explained in LXF September 2005 but offers no help. It is a really simple quick fix that works with other applications as well. Copy the following code into your favourite editor and save as "beagle.sh" in /home/username/.kde/Autostart (Note the "." hidden directory).
- Code: Select all
Every time you login Beagle is enabled and available using the system tray or F12. It is an absolutely fantastic search tool even though it is only in "aplha" stage at this time.
I have an ADSL connection so I also have the recent LXF script to set the Astropix of the Day from NASA as the desktop background in my Autostart folder.
