Mandrake on a Laptop

Postby Piloti » Tue Aug 02, 2005 2:44 pm

I sort of know the answer to this, but i want someone to confirm...!!!
I have just installed the Mandrive LE 2005 from the ,ast months front cover. I have it on a lap top.
Essentially, I can't get the chip mounted Toshiba AMR modem working.
The mandrake www site says that 'emaill is a doddle' on a lap top, but does not say how.
Can somebody suggest how this can resolved ?

Thanks

The problem might stem from the fact that the LXF DVD is limited to the "free" version of Mandriva and does not have the kernel module package for your modem. Club members can get these packages by adding the club repository to their urpmi configuration, otherwise, you might be able to download a suitable driver and build it yourself, but it won't be easy.
