S.O.S need to recover information from a formatted disc

Postby gireluh » Mon Jul 18, 2005 3:26 pm

i need help, i had an Ubuntu installation disc on my pc, my sister enter the installacion programme and just pressed enter a lot.

I had a partition with Win98, then Ubuntu and a logicall one.

she claims the disc wasn't completely formatted, but when i re-boot the pc, neither the LILO starts or any OS.

what can i do to recover the data?

Please somebody tell me how does Linux format the HD, a guy told me it's a just a logicall format, but idon't know.

Please i must get that information

Get a Live distro and boot the PC on it. Try to use fdisk to mount the drive and see what has happened to it. Without further information, it is hard to say. Please repost with more info.
