In my home network I run a Smoothwall box as firewall and another box with SuSE 9.0 for all the 'real' server stuff. Pretty secure, but not efficient from energy savings perspective.
I somewhere read that with User-Mode Linux you should be able to combine these functions in a secure way into one box.

Therefore an article or tutorial on how to get this done would be very welcome as well as a discussion on security related aspects by using UML as compared to different boxes.

Vserver is another solution for this. We sell virtual machines using vserver at Netserve, they seem to work quite well.
